Thomas Bunting, (1951-1928) 

Aberdeen painter in oil and watercolour of landscapes. Specialised in Aberdeenshire and Perthshire scenes, often with rivers or the sea in ivory tones. In his early years he exhibited from the home of James Winkley whose protege he was. Founder member of the Aberdeen Society of Artists 1885. His work was competent but a little nondescript. His later work is looser, lighter and more interesting. Among the 18 works exhibited at the RSA 1874 - 95 was 'Evening at Braemar'. Also exhibited RI and AAS.
