 Jane Nasmyth, (1788-1867) 

Landscape painter in oil and watercolour. She was the eldest daughter and pupil of Alexander Nasmyth and organiser of the York Place School. Affectionately known as the 'Old Solid'. She was mainly known for her landscapes in Scotland and the English lakes in the manner of her father and teacher, whose work her's more closely resembles than do any other member of the family.
