 Robert Noble, RSA PSSA (1857-1917) 

Born in Edinburgh and died in East Linton. He studied under his cousin J. C. Noble at Trustees School and RSA Life Class 1879-84. Shared the Keith price in 1892. After traveling to France to study in Paris under Carolus Duran his paintings focused primarily on landscapes. His works is characterised by his use of low rich tones, and by adding finalizing touches of contrasting colour.
