 John Bulloch Souter, (1890-1972)

John Bulloch Souter, Painter in oil and watercolour, etcher. Most well-known fromhis portrait painting that he did during his time working in London. Trained at Gray's School of Art and the Allan Fraser School. By 1922 he was very well established in London doing portraits of Ivor Novello and Gladys Cooper. In 1952 he moved back to Aberdeen and remained there for the rest of his life painting landscapes, still life, flower studies; also executing wood engravings and linocuts.
