Thomas Hope McKay, who exhibited between 1870 and 1930, enjoyed a good reputation as a landscape artist but not a lot is known about his professional or personal life. Glasgow painter of fishing boats, harbors and coastal scenes in oil and watercolour. He was influences by the 'wet' Glasgow technique derived from the Hague School.

 

He lived in Glasgow at one time and exhibited 22 works at the Glasgow Institute, 2 at the Royal Scottish Academy and 1 at the Royal Scottish Society of Watercolour Artists.
