 Thomas Bonar Lyon, (1873-1955) 

An artist from Glasgow and a painter of landscapes. Studied at Glasgow School of Art and Royal College of Art and Royal College of Art. He also went to study in Belgium, France and Holland.  Influenced by by Glasgow maritime artists such as MacMaster and Black. He was a popular member of the Glasgow Art Club and one of the olderst members of Ayr Sketch Club, he always gave great encouragement to the amateur members. Next to painting, he was a very fine musician, playing cello. Exhibited RSA and RSW.
