 William Douglas MacLeod, (1892-1963) 

Landscape painter in oils and pastels, etcher and cartoonist. Born Clarkston, Renfrewshire. Studied at Glasgow School of Art 1919-23 under Griffenhagen. Cartoonist for Glasgow Evening News 1920-30. Influenced by James McBey, he etched from his home in Lenzie, Renfrewshire c1913-49 and abroad. Represented in a few public collections. The Fine Art Society in London published his etchings in the 1920s. Produced posters for BR.
