Alastair Proud, 1954-
Alastair Proud was born in Dublin in 1954. From a very early age he had a keen interest in nature and painting; some of Alastair’s bird paintings were shown on his favourite television programme ‘Amuigh faoin spéir’ when he was 11 years old.
Having completed his schooling at St. Andrews College, Dublin he went to the Art College in Wales. While at College he submitted work which was selected for The Society of Wildlife Artists annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries London. Alastair became a full member of the society in 1985 and has exhibited with them for over 30 years.
